How to store game consoles in an elegant way?

We have tons of video game consoles plus a dvd player and all the accessories for each. The problem is, we rent a tiny house (so no room for a huge entertainment center and no option for building shelves) and we have no way to store all of this so it doesn't look hideous. Any suggestions?

You could always get one of those 'hide-away" units that closes up and the doors are nicely carved wood. I myself have a three tiered black glass TV stand that takes up only a bit of room but gives a lot of area for consoles, games, etc.

Find one of those toy chests at Hobby Lobby or anywhere you can locate one. You can then build shelves inside it (doesnt have to be pretty) and then cut holes in the back for ventilation of units and the various cords. Make sure its roomy to prevent overheating/damage.

You can either cut the front carefully at the corners so the front has a 'drawbridge' type setup you can lower to expose the fronts of the consoles during play (for the IR/wireless signals) or carefully cut holes and butt the consoles up to the front to access drives, buttons etc.

Sure it would be a little DIY work but it wouldn't put any holes in walls, floors etc and you could pick it up and take it with you in the event of a move (rooms or homes)

same situation

I'm also in a tiny place and I place the console next to the tv with the wires hidden behind it and keep the games in a box somewhere else

We've actually got an old component stereo case, even still has the record player on top. decent looking enough, glass door, has about 5 shelves. Has enough room for a PS3 with a Wii standing beside it on the same shelf, Sat box and another DVD player on seperate shelves, one shelf for all the chargers for controllers and mics, then a target plastic storage box in the bottom for the "not currently played daily" games and misc extras.
