Sneaking it past the wife...

I was lucky enough to marry a gamer also. Don't usually have any problems....so sneaking isn't an issue. Now i gotta work on "sneaking" a motorcycle into my garage.

I don't sneak anything past the wife.

What I do do is buy the best part for the money and toss in a bit more beef on the spec as it were.

The reaction I usually see is "Wow, this thing is fast, you made it work!"

Wait a few years and when it burns up, get replacement parts. Those parts are always tops and eventually a new generation is built in like a Coral Reef.

That is so funny! My husband and I are both avid gamers. He eventually got tired of me hogging the PS3 all the time so now we have two PS3s :D We get two copies of many multiplayer/co-op games so we can play on separate tvs at the same time. We own over 130 PS3 games (PSN games included) and have a preorder list of 15 games or so. The GameStop employees know us by name; we visit every week to pick up another game. :D We just picked up Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood last night and next week we're picking up Splatterhouse.

Has anyone seen the trailer for BodyCount yet? Still no sign of a release date but I'm REALLY excited for that game!

I have done this but only had about 30% success rate. She monitors the bank account like a hawk.

I have tried to sneek stuff pass the wife but usually she does notice. It may not be that day but soon after I buy it. She'll say " did you get a new game" and I'll be like, "yeah I had that awhile.

My thing that I always get caught doing is getting a credit card seperate from ours together so I can buy gaming stuff. She always intercepts the bill after a while or so and when I get from work she has this look on her face of pure disgust!

I'm not proud of this and I'm really doing good lately. Thank god for Gamefly.

For me it is usually one out of 2 scenarios:

1. Darn, it broke and now i have to replace it. The fact that i sell the "broken" part on ebay or keep it in the computer is usually not noticed.

2. My personal favorite. Beta or Trial item. Yuck, a new videocard i need to test and write something about... This one is especially good since it a: let me get away with new part and b:gives me a few hours of gaming time since i need to try it out
