Version 2 vs Version 3

Ok, so I've been away from AA for quite a while. I see that three is out, but haven't heard much as far as whether everyone is moving over or staying with 2. What's everyone's opinion on this? I'm looking to maybe install one of them, but wanted to find out where a majority of the players are. Thanks in advance for your input on this matter.

White_Falcon has the best info on it but the word on the wire is that there is a patch in the works thats been taking an epoch to get to fruition that should make things better.

Basically the 3.0 team got fired as soon as 3.0 saw the public light of day, from the rumors it seems the mil didnt appreciate the unique nature of game programmers.

The team is like a 2 man show I think now so things are slow to say the least. The graphics are better in 3.0 and in general I like it but there are a lot of holes that kept general adoption of 3.0 and thus there remains a lot of 2.8.x players out there.

ODG is actively working a new lead which might see Americas Army 3.0 resurface so stay tuned for more on that.

OH.. and I was really thinking of loading up 3.0 and playing this weekend, would be good to get a crew together to play so let me know.

3 The new AA

Having to get used to the AA 3 version. 1 and 2 kept my intrest and as such kept me going back for more but AA 3 has not provided that for me yet. Also i would not have had it had I not bought another better computor.

Scott just download both of them and install them and play. We need to bring back our little 2 man clan that we had for that one week. (.)(.)Smegma...
Remember that?

Believe it or not, I've never played AA. I guess I've just thought that if it's free it's no good. I'm now downloading AA 3 through Steam and I'll probably pull it up this weekend and see what it looks like and how it feels. I rate a game on three aspects: Look, Feel, and Playability. Many games have a combination of at least two of these aspects, but few have all three.

i like AA2 a lot this is where i start gaming on line. AA3 is okay but not enough maps . i FIND IT MORE REALISTIC IN THE SENSE THAT YOU CAN MISS YOUR SHOT, YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH RECOIL , CONTROL YOUR BREATHING etc.

NO SPEC TO MAKE YOU INVINCIBLE a super soldier.

I played AA since what? first version 1.06? That was years ago. Free too.

When it got up to about 2. something Interdiction and Pipeline was my two favorite maps. Even now I still remember those worlds.

I have a feeling my old honor 60 profile has been lost to time, but 3.0 did not work at all for me. Maybe someday a better and more true to Military version will come out.

I played quite a lot of MOH these days and I cannot help but recognize some resemblance to AA. I have to think on that some more.
