My family was personally touched by 9/11, I won't go into details, but I have very strong feelings. I actually edited that post 6 times before I got it down to the level it was. If I offend, sorry, but there are reasons for my thoughts.
To clarify: While working as a Fed Agent, I came across several persons who could be classified as downright unfriendly, both here in the States and overseas. I've also worked alongside the security forces of certain allied countries somewhere thereabouts that particular region.... Comparing the effectiveness of their security and armed forces to ours is like comparing a 62 inch widescreen LCD HDTV to a 15 inch panasonic with a busted knob and no remote control. So I play the Taliban/Insurgents with the same mocking humor I have when I wear my big ass red shirt with "Fly Emirates" across the chest. I find it ironically funny. Now, if anyone is offended, sorry, and yes Rigger is right my opinions don't reflect everyone here, but my family has some very strong feelings about the whole matter, and I like I said, I had to clean up the post a little bit... Although I happen to recall a 4th of July party, some homemade fireworks, and a comment about someone walking in the park wearing cammies... :) |

Yep, Kramerica and I had a conversation about it. Out of respect I actually offered to remove it, but he seemed cool so it stays for now, until I find a particularly sexy picture of a sandwich....

Lunchmeat
You were not the only one who altered and edited a post in this thread several times. It took me about an hour or so and even debated that this maybe a bridge too far for me. I look forward to participating more with the ODG in various game titles in the near future. We are working hard on wrapping up financial issues that will result in our becoming debt free. We are pushing very hard this year so to get the very big student loans paid off so as to be beholden to no one or in bondage no more. You wonder what that has to do with the towers. When the towers fell, a payroll staff was killed along with records of our work that week and it would take 3 more weeks until money started to flow again. Never again shall we allow ourselves to live in such a thin margin as one or two paychecks from default. And maybe, just maybe if something to happen again... we are able to help others who may need it. Cheers. |

I'm curious to know the history on the photo. Maybe you could shoot me a link or something.

I have no problems with sharing it. It's a piece of art done by my grandfather, who has been doing tactical law enforcement and military themed artwork for 20+ years. The picture in question is a drawing of my uncle, who was a Marine with the 26th MEU (SOC). It's called "The Grunt" and has since been updated with "The Grunt II", but is still one of his more popular pieces.
