Anyone else play this? I had an enforcer for a while, eventually it got to the point about a month ago where I would be dispatched against 4 crims that all had anti-taser armor and Adeen's that would just murder me. I was informed via RTW's homepage that a patch fix was coming that would change the way matchmaking and the APB system was done. I was patiently waiting around and finally I get an update. The game I just paid for 2 and 1/2 months ago that I got about 20 hours of play out of is shutting down for good. Awesome.
Anyone else feel burned?

You should feel burned. It's a suck. I heard that there is a possibility (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/17/final-realtime-worlds-employees-let-go-us-branch-also-shutting/) the intellectual rights will be sold to another company. That link is something I will hopefully base an article on.

I'm with you intellectually, although I haven't lost nearly the monetary amount that you have. I wasn't a subscriber--I made a deal with myself when Everquest came out that I'd never subscribe to a MMORPG until I was out of the Army. But I was very interested in APB. Similar to how Beck (and Cake, and Sublime) made me hopeful for the music industry, the initial press for APB made me hopeful for the gaming industry. Sadly, they not only stepped on their dick but with this last announcement have also managed to piss off whatever fanbase they had.
My apologies to you. I was really, really hoping APB would be not only good but fantastic. There is, somewhere in there, a good game. RTW just managed to hide it.
