Recently not too far from Fort Bragg North Carolina myself and another Paratrooper got to pay a visit to the guys at SOF Studios. These guys are working on a military tactical shooter that is said to be the spiritual successor to the early SOCOM: US NAVY SEALS games. The president of the company is retired Army Speical Operations Veteran Connor Thomas. The Creative Director is none other than David Sears the man behind SOCOM 1&2. Together they have envisioned a true tactical shooter that will recapture the genre and instill teamwork and tactics.
Players will fill the role of operators from several units across the globe and tackle a variety of tasks and missions. With real Special Operations Veterans behind this project every step of the way there will be no shortage of authentic gear and weaponry. Source material that normally would be retrieved from the Internet will be demonstrated to developers with the real Operators them selves. Weapons, tactics and everything in between in fine detail will be fully realized. This is no Hollywood shooter. Gameplay is the core and making sure its tight and responsive is key. With access to the most realistic training locations and weaponry any developer they can wish for you can bet they will get it right. So what are you waiting for? They launched their Kickstarter to help raise funds for the game a few weeks ago and with just a few weeks left the game is nearing their goal.
Here are some diagrams to show parts of their plan to make H-Hour a reality.
Go head over to their page and show your support for H-Hour Worlds Elite.
