Coffee has long been a staple of the military for pulling it together and getting ready to punch holes in things and while the US in general has been behind the rest of the world in coffee appreciation, recent years have seen the rapid evolution of brands, types and tastes.
As gamers there are more than enough opportunity to appreciate the impact that a good cup of coffee can provide. In the morning, trying to wake up from a long night of “operations” or in the evening preparing for a long night. In support of the various coffee initiatives that surround the military we at Off Duty Gamers wanted to point out some coffee related resources that had a military link.

Who They Are
Veterans are a critical constituency and we believe that investing in them is integral to a stronger America and our long-term future. Coffee is what we do, but veteran impact is why we do it. Coffee is an $80B industry. We’re on a crusade to capture 0.45% of the market and to add meaning to the otherwise meaningless purchasing decisions that coffee drinkers make daily. To achieve our mission, we invest at least 50% of our distributed profits in the causes that promote and support veterans.
All of our blends are unique and have been specifically-designed with you in mind. Our flavors are bold, but not overpowering. Our “Ranger” blend is our signature blend and our most popular varietal, but our “hypercaffeinated” blends (containing twice the amount of coffee as a regular cup) have brought national acclaim to the work we do.
Literally the first military based coffee company I ever ran into was Ranger Coffee. With a staff of veterans they offer coffees in whole bean and ground at various boldness levels. What stands out with Ranger Coffee besides a solid group of blends is the additional weapon system in the coffee arms room “Hyper-Caff” versions. These versions are based on the standard blends and then infused with enough caffeine to make your friends start to question if you’ve developed a twitch disorder.

Who They Are
We are a vet owned and operated company dedicated to our military, our veterans, and those who support them. We were founded in 2010 by LTC(R) Carl Churchill, a combat veteran with 21 years of service as both an enlisted soldier and officer.
From the start, Carl wanted to create a different kind of company guided by the principles he lived by… work hard, do good, give back, and make it fun. In founding Lock-n-Load Java, he committed to organizing and running the company based on the experiences that a lifetime of service leadership in the military taught him… while ensuring the fun and camaraderie he experienced in the military remained a core part of the company as well.
While many companies claim to support charities with nebulous claims of donating a “portion of profits,” we decided we would create a minimum standard for the money we commit as a company to the panel of charities we have chosen to support. We have set that threshold at the equivalent of $1 for every order shipped. The more successful we are as a company, the more we donate back to these great organizations. We believe that this level of transparency will earn your confidence and loyalty.
I was recently introduced to Lock N Load Java through a friend sending a sample of the Task Force Zulu and Double Barrel Black. The gang at LockNLoad has a fairly robust array of flavor profiles from single bean standard coffee to blends with a little flavor added and even provide a decaf for those who might have been overstimulated after a day on the two way rifle range. They offer roughly 9 types in 12oz versions with options for ground or whole bean.

U.S. Army personnel at nearby Eskan Village caught word about the new coffeehouse, and soon after, invited Jason to open a cafe on the US Army base.
Today, Green Beans Coffee Company serves military personnel in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Djibouti, Africa and domestically at military bases across North America. The company has not only grown in locations, but also in its mission to support our men and women in uniform.
Our fifteen-year heritage of supporting those that put their lives at stake in service to our country is firmly rooted and non-negotiable. That tradition of caring is the foundation of our operating philosophy and carries over in our commitment of giving back on a national level, where a portion of every sale is donated to charities like TAPS and Soldiers Angels that strive to improve the life for disabled armed services members, military families and their children.
