There’s a new Steam Beta client available that allows a new remote management feature. What the heck is the remote management feature, you ask? Well here is the explanation : using a web browser or mobile device, those with the beta client installed can remotely download owned games to their computer.

This will be a great feature, if you are at work when a new game comes out, or if you are at work surfing the web and find a game you want on Steam. Now you can have it downloaded and ready to install when you get home. Outstanding!

To access the Beta, go to File -> Settings. On the Account tab press the Change… button to open the Beta Participation dialog. Then Select “Steam Beta Update”, and allow Steam to restart itself. Then visit your games list, and click the install button for the desired game to start a remote download. The only requirement is that the Steam client be running already on your home computer.
